PoL -> "Why is Premiership or Liga considered more interesting? It is not just the football but also the pride the supporters have for their team and the perpetual rivalries in between top teams."

You're totally right. So :) ...
Do you think Barca supporters would be as happy as you are if one of their best younger would come to Real ? I'm pretty sure the all would prefer him to go in Italy, or England !
We cannot just take examples on what we want to :) Every country is different, and I like the way we talk and appreciate football in France. I like the supporters (not everyone, of course !)

Don't worry Jo, I totally understand what you mean about OM supporters.

But sadly it is those types of supporters we need to have a "fun" league. Why is Premiership or Liga considered more interesting? It is not just the football but also the pride the supporters have for their team and the perpetual rivalries in between top teams.
Many people disregard the 7 titles Lyon have won, saying it was easy.
Then why didn't any other team do it?

If HBA goes to OM (5% chance), whatever the OM supporters say, the only important thing is the title... and in recent past OM has none to talk about.

If Ben Arfa moved to Marseille he would only be 'yielded' which means loaned. I cant see this transfer happening, but a loan makes sense, especially if Perrin is retained, which depends on the cup final this weekend. But even if we win, I want him to leave, he just has a bad effect on the players with his dour and negative personality.

Nasri to Arsenal, Ben Arfa to Marseille. What a great arrangement (though I prefer all of them to just go to Lyon LOL)

I would be SO SAD to see HBA going to Marseille. I really couldn't believe it. Especially because OM fans are so holier-than-thou. If they buy Hatem, they WON'T STOP talking, and talking, and talking.
If you were here in France, you would know how almost every OM supporters are. That's so irritating.

But I have to admit I agree with all of you... HBA have to stay in Ligue 1. It's better for everybody here...

It is also surprising me, but the fact is he gave an interview to regional daily La Provence, published today, in which he says:
"If Marseille contacted us for Hatem, would we be ready to yield to him? I answer: why not? Nothing prevents us from considering such an offer.
Marseille are a large club where Hatem could develop just as easily as abroad. Precisely, the idea to see this young talent continuing to express himself in France would seduce me more. It would be a good thing for Ligue 1."
He also says no contact has been established so far between OM and OL, neither to sell HBA nor exchange him with Samir Nasri."Samir is a great player, but no contact has been made."

To me, it sounds like : "I am not prepared to do crazy things to keep Hatem, who demands more than we can/want to give him and therefore wants to go find it outside. I'd like to keep him in France (the better the level of L1, the better we are prepared to compete at European level, the easier we can attract great foreign players and coaches, the higher the stadium attendance and sales, and the higher the TV rights). So I lure OM as I know Pape Diouf is in adoration for HBA, and now I wait for bids...

I agree, I would rather see Ben Arfa stay in France, and there, he could be the star (since Nasri looks to be leaving), so he wouldn't have to be in Benzema's shadow any longer.

But it is reinforcing the opposition...I have a hard time believing Aulas would do that, especially since Marseille refused to sell us Ribery for that same reason.

There are more and more talks of Ben Arfa going to Marseille. If (big IF I know) it really happened, I have thoughts about it.

I love Ben Arfa, he is great to watch. But his style doesn't really fit with the Lyon team mentality. For me the OL style is to play as a team, not individuals.
For me Marseille is the opposite. Players are usually required big egoes to succeed there (that's how I see it anyway). And although I hate to say it, Ben Arfa would be great for Marseille. If he really went, I'd be gutted to see him do amazing things for them. But it would be good for L1 and NT.

Yes, I'd be suprised if Portsmouth want him kept aswell as anytime he's played he's missed chances. Depends how the euros go for him.

It was strange for me to see Milan Baros in the list. I had completely forgotten he was just on loan.
