Now that International Week is Over…

SwedenKim Kallstrom came on as a second half sub in Sweden’s 0-0 draw with Denmark. Despite the draw, Sweden top Group F with a three point lead. They also played in a friendly against Montenegro.

CRMilan Baros missed the game against San Marino due to back pain but started against Ireland. The Czech Republic is in second place in Group D.

ICKader Keita started in the Ivory Coast’s game against Gabon. Ivory Coast got the point they needed to top the group and qualify for CAN 2008.

Algeria Algeria lost to Gambia (2-1), which means that Nadir Belhadj & Co. won’t make it to CAN 2008.

FranceOf the four Lyonnais called up by Domenech, only Jeremy Toulalan featured in the game against Italy, when he came on in the last five minutes. Against Scotland, Karim Benzema came on with thirteen minutes left to go. Francois Clerc and Sidney Govou did not play. France are third in Group B.

ItalyFabio Grosso did not play against France or against Ukraine. Italy are second in Group B.

    Källström also started against Macedonia, but was subbed for Linderoth (When? No idea. It’s about as hard to come up with info for Sweden’s game against Macedonia as to get some about Cameroon’s game against Equatorial Guinea).

    At least we’re back to L1 now!

    International friendlies are covered pretty poorly, even the high profile ones, like yesterday’s Brazil vs. Mexico. It’s a shame, because friendlies can be intense sometimes.

    I was actually at the game. It was so cold, and yet some of the women there were practically naked.

    Was surprised that Toulalan didnt come on for Vieria when he was taken off!

    Benzema played against Scotland as well and done well!!
