I seriously think lyon should persue Mexes,he has a release clause in his contract at approximately 15 million euros,well worth it when you consider a strong backline of clerc-cris-mexes-grosso,a champions league winning one,then a quality striker,and possibly winger and the champs league is ours

Sam and Benj: I suggest that both of you make Santa a list of who you want to stay and who you want to see go in the winter and next summer. The reason Bodmer’s in defense is because it’s simply impossible to accomodate all these midfielders and wingers unless their is an injury crisis. And Lyon isn’t Real or Man U: players aren’t going to be happy about being on the bench. And as Inara pointed out, the rotation at the attacking positions is killing any chance of the attacking players becoming cohesive. So unless Toulalan leaves, Juninho retires or a couple of the other lesser players take off, expect to see Bodmer back there for a while. And that thing about him making the NT was based more on Raymond’s penchant for Lyon players. But he obvioulsy doesn’t have the skill at the moment to get the call up in defense.

Benj: I’d agree about Bodmer, it does seem slightly strange how Puel is keeping him there, especially when Boumsong is on the bench. I hope when Grosso returns to full fitness we see Mensah at CB rather than Bodmer. We’d be losing the services of an extremely talented CM if this continues.

Oh and the rumor Bodmer in the French NT at CB = a very bad joke. Lets not forget that Squillacci and Escude are still very serviceable at that position if Domenech decides he doesn’t like Mexes/Abidal.

This talk of Bodmer at CB is making me sick. How could this be anything but temporary? You are telling me that Puel thinks it’s a good idea to convert him permanently to CB when he is one of the most talented mids in France? If that’s true then OL is doomed because their manager is an idiot. I can’t believe that he would start Bodmer at CB if Grosso was healthy and he was able to move Mensah back to his natural position.
