I wanted to see Mounier and Paillot. Especially Mounier. But the score was only 1-0 until the last ten minutes, and by then I think Perrin had used all his substitutions. Lens still could have scored a freak goal until Kallstrom scored the second.

I hope Ben Arfa's injury isn't serious and his absence was a precaution more than anything else.

That was a very good match, with an awful referee. Too much mistakes, he wasn't in his game.
Lens (as usual against Lyon) wasn't as good as they can be. That's 2 offensives teams, so there's always spaces to attack, even if Lyon had the ball possession.
I'm so happy for Fabio Santos. And I'm not surprised. That's a long time I say we have to let his chance to prove he's good. I've seen him many times at the practices, he his very good. He never plays and is in a new championship. And he can be better, believe me !

If Ben Arfa was lightly injured then fine, but I would have liked to see him play today. If he isnt used against Rangers I am going to be very angry. The kid showed his potential against Metz, and now he hasnt seen any action. Stupid. I played with a slighty torn quad in my left leg, my planting leg, and still managed two goals and two assists yesterday. Its not like you cant play through a "slight" knock.

Also, way to rest players, seeing as how everyone ended up playing anyways. Perrin has no confidence in his reserves, if Belhadj cant drop in for Grosso and Benzema is brought on in a game that was already won. Tsk tsk, I dont like this anymore. Its to much like Ged, there is to much predictability in our team and playing style.

Didn't get to see the match, just heard some of the radio commentary radio, but here are the player marks from L'Equipe

Vercoutre 5
Clerc 5
Squillaci 6
Bodmer 5
Grosso 4.5
Toulalan 5
Fabio Santos 6 (and man of the match)
Juninho 4.5
Keita 4.5
Baros 4.5
Kallstrom 5

These seem tough marks right? The report was not too flattering about Lyon either - suggesting that Lyon made heavy work of the match. Seems strange for a 3:0 score line. There was some suggestion however that a several of the key players were holding back to make sure they would be 100% for the Rangers game. We also had 66% possesion.

Inara,

I have to disagree with you that Lens is a good team this season. Lens WAS a good team before they got rid of all their players like Jussie, Thomert, Jemma, Itandje, Seydou Keita, Barul etc. etc. Look at the crap they replaced them with and you get what you get on the field.

This is a good win. Benzema wasn't being defended. The quality of other ligue 1 teams needs to improve before Lyon wins the Champions League.

イナラ: I hadn't even noticed.

Strong and controlled game from Lyon. Glad I could see more of Santos: Perrin should line him up more often or we are doomed to tire Toulalan out or worse, get him injured.

Ben Arfa was left out of this game, Benzema and Juninho played only a bit...
The lineout against Rangers seems to be appearing.

Toulalan was exceptionnal again and key to Kallstrom's blast of a goal.
Dos Santos had a great first half but hit the wall in the second.
Keita was good but not at full strength.
Baros was frustrating as usual, but dished a nice assist for the openning goal.
Vercoutre made an awful move when he went out to meet Aruna on a counter attack behind Lyon's defense. It resulted in a lucky break, as he managed to touch the lob and then the ref closed his eyes when Toulalan fouled Boukhari with nobody in nets at the 16 meter line.
Grosso was very good.

Lens played such a weak game and far from their standards, but that's been the case this season. They have a better team than they show right now.
