great post inara… now i’ve only just cringed through the first metz goal in the highlights so far, and maybe i’m crazy and not seeing it properly, but i have a couple of questions.

a) is that ederson at the near post?
b) is he WAVING HIS ARM at the ball as it goes in?

i don’t even know if i should watch the rest of this.

Nice post. I never heard of Victor Mendy but Sebastien Renouard has been with Metz for a long time. And Romain Rocchi: He’s the dude who was in PSG in 2003/04 season. Later he left for Ajaccio. Looks like he is with Metz now.

I think all Lyon fans are making too big of a deal about this Metz loss. Sure the way Lyon bowed out was shameful but they should just move on and try make amends for this in the champions League.

To Lyon: Please take all your anger out in Champions League. Lyon always kicks small teams around. And when it is time to fight against the big boys they put in a innocent performance as if asking for mercy.

I have thought Gassama has done really well so far, I think he is ready for Ligue 1 games, and when he gains more confidence he will attack more, showing a stronger side to his game.

Faure impressed me for a 17 year old, but he is still two years away from being ready for league football. I do not understand why Puel though Paillot was not good enough but Fortier was, because its evident to me that while Fourtier may be great in 2-3 years, Paillot is pretty good RIGHT NOW and that is what we need at this point. Bring Sandy back home!!!

Now we know. Never ever play a game the day of WWI Armistice.

However I’m okay if we don’t lose any game for one more year from now.
I’m waiting for the Bordeaux game before I make any commentary on the team, and the disappointed way of playing.

It’s painful to see Rangers on that list of teams who beat Lyon at home. The only thing I’m down about is that alot of players will miss out on the playing time that these games provide. Since Lyon were knocked-out this early, does it mean that they don’t participate in the cup next year? And Keita was horrendous. Govou should be #1 at RW. What a waste of money.

Jo: Keitastrophic is just the perfect word. I think it'll become a staple of this blog, because really, there is no other way to describe Keita since his arrival from Lille. Ush: Well, it's not that he went out of his way to praise Metz, but he was asked about them, so he gave the truthful answer. But 95% of the rest of his interview was devoted to being pissed and bitter that the CdL is over for Lyon and they no longer have a chance at it this year. Also, it's not being arrogant towards Bordeaux that I meant, but any chances of Lyon keeping on eye on the Fiorentina match are thrown out the window, with 100% of their attention on their match up against Bordeaux. Lyon will be playing pretty rough football, I feel (especially since against Metz, Lyon were too soft and didn't follow up on any challenges), and I fear there may be injuries this weekend. lefutur: Yeah, Vercoutre has got to be asking himself what he was smoking to completely misjudge that goal. And what a way to repay Puel's trust in him. I suppose Lyon have less fixtures to worry about now, especially since Bordeaux are still involved, but all the same, losing hurts. Al: The club is trying to move on, but French media is just brutal to Lyon in general, so you can imagine how they are treating this game. But yes, meeting Atletico in the next round would be great, though it'll be weird seeing Coupet on the opposite end of the pitch. Let's hope Lyon qualify though!
