Good also for Mounier, who had that assist (though I don’t know if it will officially count). But Mounier and Fred play well together I’ve noticed

Also what was crazy was that in the middle of the game, Benzema’s name was being chanted really loudly, which is impressive considering it was in Romania.

So OLTV are going their post match interviews and analysis. Clerc is in the studio and Squillaci has called in. Really cute, and glad to see that Toto still remembers us.

mentally, our team is amazing this year, never seen a team does so many comebacks.
as for our defending, 4 months ago when Puel said he considers Bodmer as 4th choice CB we were all pissed, who would of thought he’d be the (by far) best CB choice, Boumsong is simply awfull, and Cris still didn’t get back to his pre-injury form.
and despite those 2 goals, Fred is still a terrible striker, please send him home at January.

Lyon are the ultimate comeback team. Against Nice, Fiorentina, Lille, now Steaua. It’s actually kind of worrying because OL shouldn’t be in the position of having to come back at all.

yer we seriously need some defensive signings-left back and if truth be told we need not one but two new centre backs, who I dont know, but surely anyone besides boumsong mensah and cris,im not sure whos better them or me right now, offensively good tonight at least.

speaking of reverse jinx, Inara. do you think fred would have scored 2 today if he hadn’t been booed over the weekend. Pretty amazing when a sub scores a brace like that…he must have been fired up.

oh definitely. Fred had a point to prove, and boy did he prove it. I think Puel benching him also added to his resentment as well. It looks like an angry Fred is better than a sulking Fred, so if this is the case, I’m all for Fred being booed all the time.

Fred showing us his double face again… I only wish he could keep this Angel Mask on all the time.
I like the statistics on the uefa website. It is interesting to see that Fred has been fouled a lot in CL… And when we know the importance of Set pieces for us, he can be very useful.
The defense is an mystery for me. We were supposed to have the strongest defense ever with Cris and Mensah. What happened?
Once (if) they pull there s**t together, we will be very strong contenders for CL.

I wonder if the fact Cris is not as good as he used to is only due to recovery.
I think that the fact Coupet is not behind him anymore is disturbing him.

fabmab: While the gist of what you’re saying (that people are wrong about Fred) is a valid point, the manner in which you said it is not permitted on the Offside, so I will have to remove your comment. You’re welcome to post your thoughts, but keep it clean.

As glad as I am for Fred, until he’s consistent, he hasn’t convinced me. Same goes for Keita. Great that they had a terrific game today, but these days seem to come one in a million for them. We all know the talent Fred has, but he has to get his act together. He’s had a tough time, but part of being a professional is not bringing his personal life onto the pitch.

Yes I agree Inara, great match for Fred but one good match doesn’t make up for all thats gone before (and will doubtless come again).
Pride maybe missing Coupet has something to do with Cris’s recent lack of form. I’m not sure its just recovery though because when he came back last season, Cris (and unlike Coupet) seemed to go straight back to his old form with no real jitters. It seems that suddenly from the start of THIS season that he’s been struggling with his form. Coupet is the one main change to his system this season (last season he was playing fine with both Boumsong and Toto so it can’t been Toto leaving). Yet on the other hand for me Cris has always been very strong mentally so I’m not sure that he’d be through off course so much by the change of Coupet for Loris. Hmm. I’m puzzled!

Exactly what I wanted to write. I’ll just add that I’m not going to “tape my mouths shut, sit in the corner, and pray for forgiveness now…”, because Fred did score two “easy” goals yesterday.
I’m sorry, but WHICH striker would have not score in the position of Fred yesterday ? I’m okay, he did a good game, good placement, but what he said about the supporters is still inconvenient. Too easy to score 2 easy goal and say “haha ! shut up everybody”.
But I stay one of his supporter, as I already said I didn’t whisttled him last saturday. I just want him to realize that he has to be clean after what he’s done and do his job.
And about Keita, I love his goal ! THAT is a very tough goal to score, he was on fire for some moment of the games. But he had been tired pretty soon, surely because of his lack of playing. I was sure he would have done a good game, I felt it at Gerland against Lille.
He’s in a good mood. Go On, Kader.

We had an incredible night with my friends yesterday. That was great :)
