Lyon Calendar Pictures

With the heavy fixture load coming up in the next month, I thought that before things get too serious around here, I’d share the pictures from the OL 2009 calendar. As I mentioned earlier, Lyon got creative this year and had the players dress up in a way that reflected some aspect of the player’s personality, either hobbies, persona, background, or running gags. The end result is a very fun calendar. And I gotta say, Lyon are the most fucking awesome team ever. Yes they are.

And I just love farmer!Toulalan. I’ve completely changed my mind about that, and you can be sure that his face will be next to my desk year round, no matter what month it is (though I still have yet to embrace his taste in music).

The following images are what I scanned from my calendar. I’ve never used my photo scanner until this weekend and still haven’t figured out what all the buttons are for, so I apologize for the fact that the coloring is weird in some of the pics.

  Also, some people have expressed interest in making posters out of these images (blockposters.com is a cheap way to do it), so if that’s something that interests you, let me know and I can email you the gigantic versions of these pics.

  Thanks Inara, nice to have a “just for fun” topic to help forget the embarrassment of the Lens game.

  I think I can survive without having a “Gladiator Mensah” or “Rapper Delight Karim” poster on top of my bed. But some of these are good esthetically (eg Fabio Santos), some are sooo predictable (Juni), others show simple, cool people (Mounier-Hartock, Makoun, Piquionne); but my favorite one has got to be Clerc. I just find it great, colorful, funny… I would appreciate if you could send it, Inara. Thanks in advance!

  Lloris looks like a boy-band member. Too bad Vercoutre didn’t stay at the bottom of the pool, and Benzema looks like a dude who once offered me female company as I walked the late night streets of Pigalle.

  I think benzema’s picture is plain awesome, he reminds me of bullseye from marvel, alway hits the target. Ederson is a magician on the pitch, and that’s what he’s reflecting, awesome!..clerc, delgado and santos’s pictures were also awesome!

  Oh, P.S. When I was in Metz last year, I went to a Tex-Mex restaurant. Seriously. Indian art all over the place — pictures of Indians, not made by Indians. Everything on the menu with French cheese, including quesadillas and nachos. It was surreal.

  That’s what the Toulalan pic makes me think of.

  Thanks Inara. I would put Clerc as my favourite one right before Toulalan’s. Makoun is on the bottom, I just don’t get it with Pink on his T-shirt???
