Michael Essien arrested for drunk driving

Late, I know, but I just found out that former Lyon midfielder Michael Essien was arrested on charges of drunk driving.
Last Monday, the Chelsea player was pulled over in London for suspicion of alcohol intoxication. After Essien failed a breathalyser test, he was taken to jail. Essien was eventually released on bail but will have to face further inquiries in July.
According to his spokesperson, “He is very upset and does not believe he was over the limit. Michael is a responsible person who would never drive if he thought he would be impaired by alcohol.”
At least someone celebrated Lyon’s sixth title!
