If Puel doesn’t find anyone from the reserves, I have my fingers crossed for Michael Kadlec, who actually wants to come to Lyon (I know, crazy, right?).

That is a delicate balancing act for Puel to decide. Becuase we definately need another left back, and given the funds, he could get someone to replace Grosso, but then again, Grosso does have a presence with the squad.

Sadly that’s the conclusion most OL fans have come to. And most of them disliked him a lot during the first seven months of his stay in France (I know I’ve advocated his leaving several times). But the club is harboring some hope that they can make him return to his Palermo/Italy form because there have been some games (not many I grant you) where he’s been terrific. Plus he’s a huge personality among the players, sort of like a Remy Vercoutre figure, and even if he hasn’t replaced Abidal in sporting terms, in personality, he’s getting there.

Having been there for every home match that Grosso played for Inter and seen him once in the flesh and a dozen times on television for OL, I am seriously entertaining the idea that he has made a Faustian Bargain in which he has exchanged world class form with the Azzurri for CFA form with his clubs (I don’t know if the kid’s soul and/or haircut was also part of the deal).

I really hope it isn’t true (he seems to be a genuinely nice guy and no one who was here in 2006 will ever forget the goal against Germany or the penalty against France), but there is very little evidence to the contrary since he left Palermo.

I don’t how it’s possible, but I have to admit I like him more & more, just like you do, Inara.
He is becoming one of our most important player, on the pitch and out of it. Just feel it.

I hope he does teach his hair tips to his boy. I really, he needs to stop learning from Sidney and Fred.
