Juninho scores TWO free kick goals in one match

By: Inara | September 13th, 2008

I guess he’s not as old as some people thought.

Seriously, I don’t understand why people even bother debating on who the best free kick specialist is. In the game today, there is surely no one better than our very own reincarnation of Jesus.

His goals were exactly what Lyon, down by two goals, needed to get back into the match. The first free kick was at his usual distance of about 35 meters. The second one was over 50 meters away (though it looks like Piquionne touched it, the ball actually just bounced in).

Incredibly epic. That 50 meters one especially blew me away. When my personal favorite free-kicker, one Andrea Pirlo, says that he bases his technique on Juninho’s, there kind of isn’t a question as to who the best free kick taker in the world is.

Juninho’s free kicks were outrageous, but this game was a scandal.

I guess Juni could play for another ten years at least. Even if he sat behind the goal the whole game long and only stepped in to shoot the FK’s, he would still be our most important player. Lyon’s new stadium should really bear his name! :)

Lol… Your line up is very funny Ronan… You really think we should start Kolo in champions league? OK, at least you have the decency to put Govou on his side so that he doesn’t get overwhelmed, but still… We will see Kolo start in the “Coupe de la Ligue”.

yer but if kolo struggles then we have 1 of the holding midfielders mak or lalan to cover, after all the kid needs a chance we signed him to cover for grosso anyway otherwise what was the point ? I think the biggest stage of the champions league will be a great start for him.

Ronan: Kolo’s never even played in an L1 game, to my knowledge. That’s like throwing a virgin into one of Sylvan Wiltord’s orgies. Won’t happen. And his confidence would be absolutely shattered. Mensah or Kallstrom will start. I would like to see Boumsong play on the right in an L1 game. He played there at Auxerre. And one of the older players should be prepared to be Reveillere’s back-up on the right. Gassama isn’t ready for the CL.

Can someone give some links or streams for match tomorow?
Lyon will win, I hope, they are in good form. Fiorentina lost last match in Napoli, and Lyon pull over a magic turnover. So Fiorentina watch your back, Benzema are in top form. Allez Lyonnais
