Juninho’s WUNDERGOAL Against Sedan

By: Inara | Comments 30 Comments

Juninho doesn’t just look like Jesus. He’s also got his divine powers. How else to explain this last minute free kick that defies the laws of physics, wins the game for Lyon, and propels the club to their first French Cup final in 33 years?

This is Juninho’s 38th free kick goal for Lyon in [...]

Winning Makes Me Feel Good

By: Inara | Comments No Comments

It feels like forever since the last time Lyon not only won a game, but did so with a clean sheet. The last three Lyon games have been rather depressing, with the last two games resulting in heavy losses, with an understrength Le Mans dumping us out of the League Cup and Lens humiliating us [...]

Dejection

I think the picture below sums up how I feel.

Someone give Juninho a tissue. And give me one too.

Rangers 0 - 3 Lyon: Ibrox Conquered

By: Inara | Comments 13 Comments

Against all odds, OL booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League. After losing their first two games in a disastrous start, Lyon have slowly but surely rebuilt themselves into a strong and competitive side that deserve their place at the big boy’s table.
Their biggest test so far had them traveling [...]

Caen 1 - 0 Lyon: Lyon Lose, No One Really Cares

By: Inara | Comments 19 Comments

This must be the first time I’ve ever gotten a match predication right. Yesterday I said that Caen could snatch a not-so-shocking 1-0 result due to Lyon’s Champions League obligations, and I was right.

Ben Arfa: not as decisive today.

The goals: Caen (Gouffran 18).

Lyon 5 - 0 Strasbourg - A Walk In the Park

By: Inara | Comments 5 Comments

Until this afternoon, Strasbourg had the second best defensive record in the league. But 90 minutes later, they were left behind on the sidewalk as Lyon strolled to a comfortable 5-0 win. This game is especially notable for Francois Clerc, who scored his first league goal ever.

Kim Kallstrom scored a brace.

RAWR!!! Don’t Look Now But Here We Come!

By: Inara | Comments 22 Comments

Today Lyon crawled back from behind twice to draw with Barcelona at the Gerland. While a win would have been much sweeter, at least Lyon are still in the running for a place in the knockout rounds of the Champions League (thanks to our German friends over at Stuttgart - Armin Veh, I’m your biggest [...]

Holy Shit! Now That Was a Beautiful Game!!!

By: Inara | Comments 40 Comments

From now on, I’m going to stop making predictions. In my match preview, I was expecting a drab 1-0 scoreline. Umm, obviously I was off. How off, you ask? Well, today’s match between Lyon and Stuttgart featured six goals - and a missed penalty!!!!

Bodies were flying everywhere in this battle to the death.
