What do Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Riquelme, and Roberto Carlos all have in common?

They’ll be at Lyon on June 11th!
Sonny Anderson will be having a jubilee as a sort of post-retirement party. For those of you who don’t know who Sonnygol is, he’s a former Barcelona striker who came to Lyon in 1999. One of the first Brazilians at Lyon, he immediately made an impact as he became Lyon’s goal-machine.
It was due to him that Lyon was second place in 2000 and 2001 and champions for the first time ever in 2002. Though he left Lyon for Villareal after that for one year, when he retired, he returned to the club as a trainer and club idol.
Lyon has never replaced Sonny and are still looking for a hit-man as effective as he was, able to score 20+ goals per season. He still remains the club’s most expensive signing (18 million Euros…Fred is next at 15 million).
Anyway, this jubilee will feature two teams in a friendly match. Both teams will be coached by former Lyon managers. One team will be Lyon’s title winning squad of 2002, coached by Jacques Santini and Bernard Lacombe, the two men who led to that first title. The other team will be the friends of Sonny, coached by Paul Le Guen and Jean Tigana.
Confirmed guests: Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Juan Roman Riquelme, Enzo Scifo, Lilian Thuram, Christophe Dugarry, Bebeto, Pierre Laigle, Christophe Delmotte, Vitor Baia, Rui Barros, Roberto Carlos, Edmilson, Edmilson, Gregory Coupet, Sydney Govou…
Tickets are 15 euros each, and proceeds will go to charity. So if you’re in the area at the time, I’d definitely recommend going. You can find relevant information here.
