It was a tough decision, but he opted for the major surgery even though it will mean he can't participate in Euro 2008 in front of his home crowd. But he did it because he is still keeping faith that his career is not yet over. Aulas will be meeting with Muller soon to talk about a contract extension. According to Le Progres, Aulas likes to "pamper his foals" for services rendered, and he hasn't forgotten the many important contributions Muller made to Lyon, especially that winning CdL goal in 2001. Cacapa and Juninho have both expressed an interest in working for Lyon one day, and if you include Muller as well, that would be four former Lyon captains (including Anderson). Both JMA and muller are smart and you always need smart insiders in this game. Otherwise you're left with people like Anigo who are just the more voacal insiders. JMA has that Berlusconi quality that he wants to keeps charismatic ex-players in the organization. I can easily see Caçapa or Juninho working there once they're done with their respective careers.
