Which brings me to another topic, Loic Abenzoar, 18 year old right back. He is being touted to have a good amount of potential, but he may end up like Mourad Benhamida and Aurlien Badin, Ligue 2 players and thats it. Whats everyone’s take on Abenzoar?

Still, Clerc is younger and I think has the potential to be a better player. I’ve always thought him to be a late bloomer like Sagnol, who appeared relatively late on the international scene.

I do agree Guignol that it’s best if you can have both of them, but do you honestly think they’ll put up with this situation much longer? I’ve heard both of them rumble on occasion (though no blowouts) about having to constantly be unsure of their place on the team, and given that all other positions have an automatic starter, I can imagine one them throwing up their hands and saying, “That’s it! I can’t handle the uncertainty anymore!”

that said, i’ve always had a certain weakness for RVR. he’s a diabolical imp, always ready with the niggling little foul that escapes description. a ref doesn’t know whether to let it slide because it’s barely a brush, or to or to card it because of the effect its had on play. if i wasn’t an OL fan he’d be the player i’d hate the most.

plus his wife is special k knuts for shoes, one must empathize. my old nickname for my daughter was stalinette (hitlerina doesn’t have the same ring to it) but since she turned 10 1/2 i call her imelda.
