The Nino Chronicles, Part Deux

Sylvain Wiltord is trying so hard to be a pillar of Lyon’s community.

Organizing an orgy in his hotel room the night before a big game wasn’t enough for Lyon’s resident playboy. In his latest brush with authority, Wiltord was pulled over for speeding (he was driving 135 km/h in a 50km/h zone). He weaseled his way out of an arrest by paying a €1500 fine.

Raise your hands if you think Nino will be around next summer.

Yeah, I wouldn’t bet on it either.

The US beat Mexico in the Gold Cup! I’m almost tempted to be proud, but Mexico aren’t the team they used to be (or else they never would have lost to the US twice in a row!).

Fuck it. They won a trophy, didn’t they? I’m proud of my national soccer team, even if they suck on a global scale (the men, that is) and don’t hold a candle to my adopted France NT.

  From what I remember it was just before the match against Rennes, where the team could have won the title at home, and when the crowd whistled at the team after a poor 0-0.

  By the way I think that with Keita, Govou (who will obviously be there again next year) and Remy (who is planned to be in the first squad according to Perrin) Wiltord has no reason to be a Lyonnais next year.

  He has always has these tendencies, it is why he loves Paris so much, because he can get away with that crap there. Oh well, he will be missed for his late game winners but other then that, he like Diarra, was a disappointment and nuissance most of the time. The right side of the midfield looks solid so I see no harm in getting rid of him, although avoiding the sale to PSG or bordeuax would be a good idea as not to strenghten a direct rival. SHip him off to Palermo where he can get in all kinds of trouble with their idiotic president.

  I guess he’s been able to get away with his lifestyle for so long because he doesn’t drink, which keeps him in superb shape. But his partying the night before what could have been our title winning game was too much for the club to handle.

  Apparently, Rennes are interested again because Pompey may buy Utaka, which would release the necessary funds for Nino.
