Fred Wants to Leave

By: Inara | August 15th, 2007

While Fred is comfortable with the team and with the city, he feels unappreciated by Aulas. He also wants a raise, which Aulas doesn’t really want to give him.

Well, duh. After all those stunts he pulled in the last few months, no one respects him right now. As for a raise, what happened to fining him for his transgressions?

Good riddance to Fred, I say. Lyon don’t need his dramatics when they have a lot of other problems going on. He’s talented, without a doubt, but his attitude is such a downer. Yes, Lyon is facing a massive injury crisis and can’t afford to lose players, but having Fred stay on might be more detrimental in the long run. And if Fred leaves, it will force the club to recruit heavily.

The worst part is that he genuinely feels like he deserves star treatment from the club.

I’m too pissed at Fred to go into details, but Bernard Lacombe, when asked about Fred’s future, was interestingly quite vague. Unlike with other departing players, he made no guarantees that Lyon would try to keep Fred. In fact, he seemed to welcome Sevilla’s interest (they have tentatively offered €11m), provided financial terms can be met.

And I don’t think Lyon are going to look to turn a profit. They bought him for €15m and will seek to sell him close to that amount. Fred is currently injured and may not be back until late September, and he is also suspended from Lyon’s first three CL games. And Perrin doesn’t seem to like him either…Anyway, Fred’s brother, Marcelo (Lyon’s representative in Brazil), and Aulas will be meeting sometime next week to regulate these problems, so we’ll know by then if he stays or goes.

Fred will be a flop for the rest of his life because of his diva attitude.

And just to add to the troublesome Brazilian news, Lyon are going to report Corinthians to FIFA since the deadline for payment has passed. Apparently Aulas will ask for the harshest sanctions possible.

Yeh i think we should let him go!

I just feel that so many good players have passed Lyon by!

Whilhelmsson for 2m martin petrov for 5m, there are lots of people that would have done really well for lyon.

I heard that Bolton are looking for £7m for Anleka…i say ship from for 11m euros and buy anelka!!!

OMG Christian Wilhemson are you kidding me. Laugh.

Yeah Fred looks like he is on his way out, but this put Lyon in the position of having to pay over the odds for a new striker. Which means Auluas wont have much wiggle room when it comes to negotiating. He wont do the Real MAdrid tactic of throwing money at the club until they relent, so let us hope he can find a bargain, my guess is a brazilian striker. Possibly Lenny or a young man from Palmeiras, believe his name is Claudio. Terrifi prospect. Also, lets hope Jimmy Briand’s name comes up, possibly involving a swap deal with Wiltord.

Hey guys can you say isn’t jean-michel aulas going to buy new players? As i see players are only going out. I’m talking at first about midfielders. Malouda a.diarra tiago has gone and only keita(or he’s attacker?) came. I heard about reyes interest but he has gone. What is aulas thinking about? or lyon don’t want to go far in champions league? I see they really need world class attacking midfielder for malouda place but still nothing is done and market is closing soon. What’s happening? or i have missed something?

Everybody should have the joy of watching Christian Wilhelmsson suck his ass off for their team at some point in his career.

I’m nominating Spaletti for coach of the year simply for turning down Fred at 15m when it was considered a good move by nearly everybody, including me.

Yeah, Fred is a ball of attitude, and he fucking sucks as a player because of that. Sevilla can have him and the whiny Chevanton tear there dressing room up, atleast “I need a bigger team” Alves is leaving for the greener pastures (literaly) of Chelsea.

Napoli made a 10 million offer for him. That’s not a bad price considering he’s a)injured, b)banned from the CL for three matches, c)overly emotional, d)a bitch.

I would get rid of him!!

Hes a waste of space and if a team is offering 10-13m for him, fair enough we would be losing money on him but i would bite there hand off!!

Did anyone see the JMA interview at the weekend?

Meeting today to discuss transfer targets and the team, one of which he guarantees is a striker!!
