Because Gomis plays for St Etienne and would add no value to a team chasing a CL spot. I enjoy picking out young talent like the next guy, but the fact is, before we can sign Jimmy Brian or Jeremy Menez or Bafe Gomis, we need a striker to support Benzema in the CL. Think as if you were Lacombe before you suggest players to buy.

Oscar Cardozo doubtly has a better goal scoring average then Briand, and remeber, Briand’s average is low because he has been making appearances since he was 18. He is not Benzema, but he is still a good prospect. And Gomis, no way.

Of the others, as of now none have Lyon quality (meaning top L1, CL level) IMO.
Paillot, Mehama and that’s it. No idea why Lyon let Riou go like that, what a rip off.

In a couple of years, we should see who emerges among the promising 15 year olds.
