Transfer Round-Up
By: John | July 17th, 2009
Incoming:
Aly Cissokho: Should arrive in Lyon either today or tomorrow to take his physical and pen his deal which is said to be worth 15mill with a clause that sees FC Port recieving 20% of his future sale! JMA has found a new nemisis in Porto president Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa. Let’s hope we never have to buy from them again.
Andre-Pierre Gignac: Gignac was set to have a meeting today with TFC president Olivier Sadran, who is seemingly more intent than Nice’s Maurice Cohen on keeping his star striker- or maybe he want a fatter price tag, to twist his arm until he allows him to move to OL. Regardless, the saga continues, so we’ll see what develops. OL’s last bid was said to have been 15.5mill.
Vagner Love: The Brazilian striker is seemingly a back-up plan for failed Remy/ Gignac bids, the CSKA Moscow man is supposed to be valued at 18-20mill. No contact has been made as-of-yet.
Kleber: Le Dauphiné Libéré says that Lyon alread made a bid of 8mill for the Brazilian striker and that it was turned-down by Cruzeiro and that they demanded twice the sum. Skysports claims that Cruzeiro set the price at 15mill.
Richard Soumah: With the Bastos pursuit and signing, news of Lyon’s interest in Soumah’s arrival has vanished off the face of the earth. Indeed, right before the Bastos rumors began, and with “LiLo’s” drawn-out negotiations, it seemed like the Guingamp winger would be OL’s first signing of the summer. But now, RMC says that Lille are very interested in him as a replacement for Bastos, but with all that cash they now have, they probably will go after LeMan’s forward Gervinho. More disturbing is that they also claim that OM are now trying to sign him. If Mounier is leaving, we should scoop him up as a back-up to Bastos, at least to keep him out of the hands of Marseille.
Fernando Menagazzo: Huh? Yeah I know, but I’ve seen this rumor in a couple of places and more than once. Why would Lyon be interested? The guy can play anywhere in the midfield except the one place we need: LMF. I don’t know. Maybe some of you better informed could let-me-in-on-it. Anyway, Bordeaux want 5-6 mill for thier midfielder.
Outgoing:
Anthony Mounier: Hopefully with Loic Remy seemingly putting the nail in the cauffin of this deal himself, this whole ordeal will finally be over. Anthony’s potetetial move to Nice seems dead, and hopefully a loan deal can be worked-out in the future, bec I’m sure he’s not staying to play second-fiddle to Bastos.
Fabio Grosso: with Cissokho on his way to town, Grosso’s bags are surely packed and he’s ready to head to back home. Juve and Napoli are said to be vying for his signature.
Cleber Anderson: Anderson is said not be on Puel’s “must keep” list and might be put on the next plane to the first bidder.
Jeremy Pied: The CFA midfielder was loaned to FC Metz for the entire season.

I think Management should treat Mounier carefully,I believe we have another Remy situation here-for me letting him go permanantly would be a mistake-I think come two or three years time the kid will be good. But while Bastos is at LW Anthonys out,Mounier deserves a starting spot,a loan would be ideal but the trouble is Mounier only has one year of contract left,so if we loan him hes gonna walk out anyway next year(I doubt hell sign a new deal)Vagner love is a strange one,he is a good player but not really what OL need-For me he is similar to Lisandro so we would be much better off getting sum one who complimented Lisandros style and offered something different, although I would sign Vagner if we were also purchasing a target man type forward.Fernando Menegazzo-waste of time.

Its strange Remy seemed not that bothered about the whole saga untill the last few days were he spoke a bit-and by the sounds of things, yer he wants to come home.

Can’t w8 to watch Lisandro, Bastos, Cissokho, hopefully Gignac in the peace cup against the likes of Benzema, kaka, ronaldo, diego, and so on. Gna be a great tournament!

Id be cautious about Cissokho,Pinto Da Costa seems to have slowed the deal right down-and wants more cash bonuses,I think we are seeing the affect of giving in to Portos demand for Lopez-Porto all along wanted 20mill for Lisandro but at the last minute wacked it up to 24mill-this time round Porto wanted 15mill but when Lyon came in with the dosh-Porto wanted more.I feel this transfer is in the balance/likely to happen-it may be a while yet till its done.

the tournament should be amazin. dont want to jinx anything but lyon-real in the final would be a great (when we beat them). I hope that all the signings are ready to play by then, its only a week away

Yea. Real – Lyon mmmmm! I’m getting so excited for us this year, i think we’re gonna do great!

I just hope Cissoko deal falls off. 15m is more than enough for him. That 20% of future value is just ridiculous. I don’t see him being that better option than Grosso. I hate Porto now.

Porto president is a prick, i hope we get him soon and then we can be finished with that guy

I cant understand why any Lyon fan wouldnt want Cissokho joininh-he is so talented

Cissokho is maybe very talented but he is not an All-Star to be worth 20mil,are Porto crazy! The market is full of talented LBs who are not so expensive but are on his playing level.I was thinking if the Cissikho deal collapse we could try to sign Emanuelson. The problem is not that I dont think that he is not talented or not a good player, the problem is that he is to EXPENSIVE and to OVERATED

seems like Pinto wants even more money

cissokho is very talented but 15mil plus 20% of sale price in the future, and now maybe even more? why would Aulas agree to the 15mil in the first place.. instead, with the money he could get another LB for 5-8mil and then a ST for 7-10mil.

Yeah, but instead he buys a LB for 15mill, and a striker for 20m, poor, poor us…

^^ he wouldn’t be able to buy players of near the same quality for those prices.

Hello,
I am an Inter fan who was thinking about the summer transfer market and how well I thought Lyon had been doing, despite the loss of Benzema. Then I came here and saw that many of you are pessimistic. To me it seems like one of the best OL offeasons in a while. What is new about you guys losing your best players? Benzema is going to be amazing, but look who you’ve brought in:
-One of the outstanding CL players from last season.
-A player Milan couldn’t get
-One of the best players in your domestic leagueWhen was the last time OL could say they got all three of those? I think you guys are in good shape. When I watched you guys last year however, I always felt your weakness was at centerback. Is this true? Are you guys looking for replacements? Will you please take Burdisso and/or Viera?

Lisandro is top, and Cissoko can be big.
I’m a FCPorto fan and I regret Licha is gone…
