Barcelona - Lyon Lineups, Video Options

By: Inara | September 19th, 2007

Here we go. Nearly 3000 Lyon fans have made the trip to Camp Nou. Perrin has surprised us with a rather defensive formation. I’ll give you one thing, he’s certainly unpredictable!

From UEFA.com:

Lyon:

Vercoutre
Clerc - Squillaci - Bodmer - Reveillere
Toulalan
Juninho - Kallstrom - Belhadj
Govou - Benzema

Barcelona:

Valdes
Zambrotta - Milito - Marquez - Abidal
Xavi - Toure - Deco
Messi - Ronaldinho - Henry

Barcelona’s lineup was totally predictable. Thanks Frank. As for Lyon’s, I don’t know what to say just yet. We have two RBs occupying both fullback spots, and one LB occupying the LM spot. Kallstrom is playing support to two strikers, Govou and Benzema. Huh.

Viewing options:

In the US, ESPN Deportes is showing the game live. English speakers will have to wait until 5 PM for a tape delay. Check this site for further details. You can also buy the live game from UEFA for $9.95. This is a very reliable alternative with good quality, and available in a variety of languages.

If you’re looking for a illegal option, you can always visit MyP2P. My favorite, ChannelSurfing, also has links to the game (scroll down the page).

That’s it. You’ll be hearing from me after the match.

ALLEZ L’OL!!!!

Awful lineups which doesn’t play either on Lyon’s strengh (speed, direct play) nor on Barca’s weakness (playing group defense).

Poor, poor choices that should cost dearly.

It already has cost. We are behind due to an own goal, and you know any minute Barcelona will score again.

BTW, I think Perrin is a good coach.
But here, it seems he shows he doesn’t have the international stature.
You can’t make such a poor judgment.

Lyon playing in Barca can’t play defensively without Cris and Coupet, with Bodmer playing CB and with Gross on the bench and Clerc on the field.
They have to play offensively and if they must, die by the sword.

I don’t get it either. Benzema is totally isolated.

Oh my god, stupid Perrin… Why put Ben Arfa only to put Benzema back to the bench???
What’s the use of Baros anyway?

That wasn’t a very encouraging performance to say the least! Tactically all wrong, and outclassed in every department. Nobody really shone either
