No, not at all. Lyon’s defenses are dismal. If Lyon want to win they will have to simply outscore Rangers because I don’t think they can maintain a clean sheet even against a defensive side playing a 10-0.

Yes, it is. Watch Caen against Lyon and then tell me if Rangers have ever played like that in Europe. And compare their front lines. Both Darcheville and Cousin are L1 rejects. Gouffran is one of the best strikers in L1.

If anyone else is watching this game, why are the Lyon players wearing black armbands?

It was in memory of Marcel Le Borgne, former player of the OL from 1956 to 1969, and even one of the first coach under the Aulas reign (from mars 1988 to june 1988: cf OL web)…

Anyway let’s hope this defeat is a good sign for the next CL game…

Part of me wonders if Lyon purposely played like crap. At least the first half. I’m not saying they threw the match, but it’s obvious neither the players nor Perrin cared about losing today. Watching the game, it was more like they wanted to get the game over it. The only two players who seemed to care were Ben Arfa and later Benzema. Ahh, the joys of being young.

Lyon did get frustrated at the end of the match and picked up three yellow cards in succession.

i understand the need to rest players for the upcoming match at Ibrox, and that nobody wanted any further injuries four days before our deciding CL match, but that was some really uninspiring football from lyon today.

wow. what a prediction Inara. not a happy result but your instincts were spot on. Lyon’s collective head just wasn’t in this game. even the subs couldn’t do anything. well…at least nobody got hurt and the players arent completely drained. time to think ahead to Rangers!
