Inara, I think there is one typo in your article. Peace Cup is held every other year from 2003 so there can't be 2010 edition in Peace Cup. That would be the 2011 edition.

I always thank your hearty articles about Lyon.

Fred is renegotiating with Spurs tomorrow. Seems Comolli has a hard on for him, which means a little uner 9 million will be grossed. its still a fantastic loss but its still something for the brat.

Guignol, you seem to forget PSG's crazy reputation in south america (Kerlon "beat-me-up-seal" was linked to PSG when he declared something along the lines of "I want to play in a big european club one day, Manchester United, PSG, Real Madrid or Internazionale), and are still one of the two clubs to have european silverware on their trophy cabinet...

Surprisingly, ASSE isn't very well known outside of France. So "world-wide", the best-known french clubs are (IMHO) : OM, PSG, Monaco, OL, ASSE, Nantes, Bordeaux. In that order. Monaco just pip OL because they attract more "big names"... Not that they perform any better.

"Lyon is probably the most well-known and successful French team of all time." even as a hardcore OL fan i find this laughable. we're still 3rd behind ASSE and OM (all-time)...

JMA is doing his best to edge OL into the world market, but i think mayor collomb is the main driving force behind the china thing. the chinese connection here in lyon is getting big, and they're going to open up a chinese section at the international school next year.

I'm not sure, Laurie. The only rumor I heard about that was the link you posted here a while back. I haven't seen it anywhere else, though I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. But I don't think it's prudent for Lyon to have a summer tour only in the US just yet. Americans are just getting into soccer - barely - and right now it's all about the Premiership teams unless you're a connoisseur of the sport or an immigrant. Though I think if Lyon played in Montreal or in say Mexico City, they would draw a lot more interest.

Also, what have you heard about the potential Lyon vs. Chivas USA friendly? Last I heard Lyon was interested but they weren't getting much response from the US side.
