Keep your childish jibes to yourself ronan.

Anderson's injury further compounds our desperate defensive situation, meaning either Paillot or Bodmer starts the next few games in the back. I dont expect Lyon to buy as any one of quality is cup tied or will have an elevated price due to our needs. Cris will return soon, but for a few games poor Toto is gonna have to do with the shaky Bodmer or nervous Paillot. Lets hope either one does a decent job, I think Paillot will be able to handle Ligue 1 strikers.

Ara... I can't see Caen, Le Mans, Nancy, Valenciennes (and in lesser fashion Nice) settling easily in the top reaches of Ligue 1... Why? Because they're quite small towns compared to English, Italian or Spanish top teams' towns. Caen has less than 200,000 people in their metropolitan area, Le Mans less than 300,000, Valenciennes less than 400,000, and Nancy less than 500,000, (Nice is better off with a million). And since they are all renting a stadium from the town (only Auxerre owns their own stadium in Ligue 1), they have a small stadium that's not always filled... So they're pretty poor (60% of an average Ligue 1 club's revenues are from TV). And of course, they can't get big sponsor or equipment deals because of their low reputation and fanbase. Thus, to survive they have to sell their better players, and bet on youngsters or unknown talents. De Melo (Le Mans' best player this season with Gervinho and Romaric) has already signed a pre-contract with Palermo to be transferred free this summer. This is a catastrophe for Le Mans, who were expecting to sell him for a few million to buy a successor. Gervinho and Romaric might be sold therefore just to help the club go through this financial problem. And if next season they're in the lower half of the table, it won't be surprising. And the cycle goes on.

Becuase it really is that. A bad cycle. Small town -> small stadium -> small revenues -> small reputation -> youth policy -> player sales to keep afloat -> variable sporting results -> small reputation -> small revenues -> small stadium -> etc... Once you get into it, it just keeps on multiplying its effects.

QUESTION: DO YOU GUYS THINK CAEN WILL CONTINUE TO PLAY WELL THIS SEASON AND THE SEASONS TO COME? OR WILL THE BIG CLUBS BUY THEIR KEY PLAYERS, AND CAEN WILL EVENTUALLY (IN THE NEAR FUTURE" BE RELEGATED ONCE AGAIN? LIGUE 1 NEEDS CONSISTENT COMPETITORS LIKE ALL THE OTHER BIG LEAGUES.

Sorry, Inara. Sorry, Jo. Sorry, Pride of Lyon. Sorry anyone who loves Lyon. But as a Rennes and Manchester United fan i have to say that piece of news has just given me a great big smile.

:D

Anyway, Cris will be back soon. I just wonder if another defender will be bought in haste, or if Paillot will get 2-3 games under his shorts.

Please guys. Defense has always sucked. The most essential thing a team needs to win a championship is good defense. How many times have lyon gone out of the CL due to do shaky defense?

Cleber Anderson is out for 6 months !!!
It's so incredible. "Rupture des ligaments du genou". The same injury of almost every Lyon's defensive players this season !!!
What the hell is going there ???
