Did the Spam Filter Eat Your Comments?
By: Inara | September 30th, 2007I apologize if some of you were prevented from posting because the Offside’s filters decided you have bad spam karma. Most of the time, the filters are great, hence the absence of the viagra ads on this blog. But sometimes the filter - quirky thing that it is - will block even safe comments. That, or some of you do peddle fake viagra on the side.
Anyway, I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with the comments. Let me know if you can’t post so I can keep an eye out for your name on the blacklist. And keep trying. I know we can beat the filters!

ouah!
I don’t know who is this very well mannered Vijay, but feel reassured Inara, your blog is great, always up to date and thoughtfully written.Success brings hatred I guess. You are becoming the Aulas of English Lyon blogs.
We love you Inara

Vijay: Umm, stop reading then?
pride of Lyon: Thanks for the love, Scott.
I think anti-OL sentiment is a common thing, especially from a lot of fans of rival French clubs. I suppose we should all get used to it.Posted from

Bad news, Inara. Vijay’s like the Michelin guide to blogs so if he doesn’t find you to be particularly good, you should probably just pack it in and forget it. I’m trembling waiting for his commentary on mine. I hope he’s more forgiving with the Portugal offerings.

I think Vijay is nothing else than a SPAM tester !

That’s right We love U, INARA

Inara feel reassured this is the type of anti OL sentiment JMA has to (loves to?) deal with all the time. Success attracts this. You’re treading in noble footsteps!

Inara, Bob loosened the controls on mine and it seems to be working. And I’ve only had one junk comment get through since.

Greg, yeah, I’ve noticed his “analysis” on some other blogs, particularly on the Brazil Offside.
Anyway, thanks for the kind words, guys! They brought a smile to my face.

I’ve never blocked anyone’s IP until today, but we don’t need those sort of distractions here.
Anywayzzzzzzz, the game is less than 24 hours away. Apparently there are masses of kilt-clad Scotsmen running in packs around Lyon.
Damn I wish I was there.

I saw a couple of men in kilts yesterday - though no need to rush over to Lyon, the legs were nothing special.

Masses of kilt-clad Scotsmen? Just like last month in Paris? I want to be there!! (But the Lyonnais had better guard their alcohol stashes.)
For the record, the preview of this game at UEFA.com includes the following sub-header:
“Barcelona blow.”
You heard it here first.

Haha, I wish there was a way to filter out Barca comments on my board. Since this is an Inara-is-great love fest I think I should say that Inara is my inspirtation and does a damn good job with my second favorite team. Keep it up

I’ve never seen a person wearing a kilt besides on Braveheart, so creepy legs or not, I think it would be cool, with the atmosphere and all. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Scots as away fans, and one of my regrets is that I’ve never personally felt the ambiance at a big Lyon match. I go to MLS games and few internationals on US soil, but they aren’t the same.
I REALLY need to visit Lyon.
Corey: You mean Lyon isn’t your first favorite????

So I wanted to share this troubling article with you guys. “Perrin Knows Defeat Would Mark End of Lyon tenure.”
He says: “I can’t deny there is a lot of agitation around us,” said Perrin. “In fact, sometimes, it feels like being in a tempest. I want to convince everyone I can do this job…There are things I can’t control. When it rains, I can put up an umbrella, but it won’t stop it raining…I am discovering how strong I can be at the moment…As a coach, you never think your life expectancy will be more than two months, but at Lyon you don’t even get that feeling. The axe could fall at any time…”While people say Lyon do not sack coaches, that means it will happen eventually.”
I know Perrin has been under pressure, but I had no idea it was that much pressure. Rangers won’t be an easy team to play against, and a draw or even a loss is a real possibility, especially from what we’ve seen in Euro qualifying. Lyon have the better players, but on-field performance is about more than quality. Sometimes it’s pure dumb luck, and we all know that in football, the French don’t have a lot of that.

Here’s a photo of one of the kilted men in Lyon for you Irana. Frankly I think the bear’s cuter!
