Nah that means Puel will decide who to recruit for the academy and will make the decisions.
Of course the staff will work there full time but ultimately, their boss is not Aulas anymore, but Puel.

I just realized, now that Puel has control over the academy as well, what does that mean for George Prost, the guy currently in charge of the set up? Lesser power for Prost? Or is this just a figure of speech - how much control can Puel have over the academy anyway if he's going to have his hands full with management and recruitment? Two totally different things, right?

MrCham: thanks for the comp. We need three defenders,if Toto leaves, and one striker if Fred leaves. Can Delgado step-into this role, or is he uneffective as a striker/CF?

I think Govou will leave, especially since Delgado will figure more this year, and even though Remy and Karaboue have both moved, Grenier will probably be in the first team. Our midfield is very well 'furnished', although its tough to say what the formation will be, as Puel is flexible. We must consider Kallstrom as being sold now as well, and I think that Makoun may end up as a backup to Bodmer but employed in more defensive schemes from time to time.

Its interesting to see if Ben Arfa stays on, I think he will. Mounier has a possible loan offer at Nice and Montpeiller, but he wont leave if Ben Arfa does. I agree that a 4th center back is needed, but with Puel moving to Lyon, does that mean Charvet does not go to Lille now? Also, a left back would be a priority, but I see a striker as being important, because Fred is flaky and probably will want to leave when the deadline comes closer. A promotion or a purchase? That remains to be seen...

In 2010, it will be the year of the world cup, so it will be a bad thing to win champion League this year, our international players needing rest in order to win the WC. For me it will be this year or when the chickens will have teeth. There will have a lot of change on the transfers market for ours opponents this year, and at this moment none for us. We were eliminated by the champion (MU) but i think that with a more offensif spirit we could had beaten them. If we manage to keep Ben Arfa, our team had never been so stronger. I'm very optimistic for the next year.

Aulas said recently that his priority is to double every post with internationals. He's already spent 45m, and I expect him to spend another 20m, which I think will be spent on two defenders. I don't see anymore attackers unless Govou AND Ben Arfa leaves (a winger), or Fred leaves (a striker).

I am glad we keep a French coach. I don't mean that Foreign managers are bad, not at all, but it is nice to keep a certain identity.

Also if we had brought in an established coach and that Lyon had won the Champions league, it would have been put on the coach only... I prefer baby steps than revolutions. Baby steps is what made Lyon what it is now: going from D2 to 7 times French champions.

Puel will feel confortable I think, especially with Bodmer, Keita and Makoun... I wonder if he will make some favoritism to his old Lille players.

as Jo said in the previous post, I think Puel will go for a 451. He will not want to leave Toulalan or Makoun out (Santos on the bench). I think that with those 3 DM, we are really perfect.

Just need 2 defenders and we're all good (get rid of Anderson and Reveillere).

I hope to see this in midfield :

Toulalan Makoun
Keita Ederson Ben Arfa

But then again, it would leave Santos, Bodmer, Juninho, Pjanic and Govou out... this midfield is so well furnished!

Maybe Puel is also thinking of using a 4-1-4-1 which could transform into a 4-2-3-1 easily with Makoun

Toulalan
Keita-Bodmer-Ederson-Ben Arfa (Juninho, Govou, Pjanic, Makoun and Santos as subs).

We definitely have a rich team problem... Puel may just as well split the players into two groups and play one group one match and the other the next.
