Are we all aware that since the collapse of Lehman Brothers as part of the financial crisis, Lyon’s net worth has been halved due to it valuation on the French stock market? Not a good sign considering we will need to invest heaviily in the defense either this winter or this summer.

Inara – as I understand Lyon need to win or have a goalless draw to go through top of the group. Anything less and Lyon will be second, as Lyon are currently top due to a better head to head record v Bayern, drawn from the away goal in Munich yet Bayern have a better goal difference. So if Bayern get a score draw then they’ll go through themselves I think.

They played well, but not well enough.

It is a relatively young team, and one that is not at all used to the extra demands of a Champions League campaign (especially when faced with a group that includes such “usual suspects” as Bayern, OL and Steaua).

In several ways, they are rather similar to OL a few years ago.

Ursus, Fiorentina did a really GOOD game yesterday.
That was close for you (as usual this year in CL for “La Viola”).
To me, Fiorentina really is a big team.

Felicitations a OL on a dominant performance away from home, there is no dishonour in losing to a team that can play like that.

Benzema increased his value to Italian teams by about 50% last night; the commentators were falling over themselves to use new superlatives. That said, I would take all of this week’s transfer rumours with the usual mountain or two of salt.

Jennifer, I can believe that Inter is interested in Benzema, but I don’t think Adriano will be part of the plans. His wages are too high, and he’s not the type of player that would appeal to Puel.

But what makes me even more incredulous is that Inter are prepared to offer 12m for Makoun. Which is funny because we got him for 15 just this past summer.

I JUST saw the score. I am sooooo happy. I haven’t seen the game or even highlights, so Ronald, if you find torrents, I’ll be grateful to you forever.

I see Juni and Cris got carded, I think it was deliberate because it’s better to miss the Bayern game than later in the next round. From what I understand, Lyon only need a draw to get top spot. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Wow I am just so thrilled, I can’t wait to see this game. It’s terrifc that Lyon got out of their doldrums for such an important match. I totally forgive for their previous lackluster month.
