We knew this would happen, Lyon's doctors are not stupid, he needed more time to heal and he didnt listen to them and now he is out of pre-season at a bare minimum. If i didnt hate Baros so much id say sell his petulant ass and buy someone else, he is beyond frustrating, and it does not bode well for him if all of Lyons management are angry about this. His transfer may be through the roof just so he never goes anywhere and sits in the trainers room injured all year long. Why dont we discuss who can replace him, because like with Nilmar, we bought a talent who turned out to be a dud, and we could very well drop himfrom the roster to free up another non EU-spot like we did with nilmar.

I think you're right about his recent rash of injuries. From what you say about him, it seems like his decisions are primarily emotionally based. His continuous lack of health is probably a combination of playing before he is healthy and a conscious, or subconscious, effort to change some nuances or hold himself back a little in order to prevent further injury. Any athlete will tell you that the second you hold up just an inch is the same second you re-injure yourself. He probably needs some extra extra time off to regain his confidence and consistency.

Salieri: Elmander might already be out of our reach, as Thierry said, his asking price has skyrocketed because Toulouse don't want to sell. But I think Piquionne is still around...

Thierry: I am so hoping that Lyon's season begins well. We've seen how a poor start (PSG) can really bring a club down.

Kax Relax: I wasn't too thrilled with the way Fred went about trying to play for Copa. I know that especially for a country like Brazil, being on the NT is of great pride, when you consider who is competition is. But not at the expense of his health. It also doesn't help that the calender is so loaded. When there isn't a world cup, there is Copa or Euros or CAN. Only the mediocre players get the relax.

William: Thanks for the shout out. I watched part of the Brazil-Mexico game, and it was one of the most under performing group of Brazilians I've ever seen. Diego, who's a fountain of energy for Werder, was invisible. Robinho had a good time, but Vagner Love was crap. I don't get why Dunga hangs onto the belief that he's a world class player. Same with Alves. It's too bad that he didn't put Fred up there - at least Fred would have had some decent efforts (Ochoa was so amazing that night that he deserves an award).

Chris: At the moment, I think you might be right. I wouldn't wish Hyde-Fred on anyone whereas most clubs would be lucky to have Jekyll-Fred.

It's weird, Fred wasn't like this last year. I have no idea what's going on, and I'm hoping it's just the aftereffects of butting heads with Houllier for two years (a trial for anyone). His rash of injuries probably have more to do with his rushing to get better, as he's never been injury prone before. Next year will be an important year for him, as he has to prove if he's really a world class player in the making or a fluke. I'm praying it's the former.

Wait, did Roma actually make a good decision by turning down Fred?

No...........

They could never do such a thing. Could they? Pigs be flyin.

This hurts, man. It hurts a lot.

And let me tell you, Brazilians here were not pleased with the inclusion of Afonso to begin with, and now he has to take an even bigger role. They're in trouble as Argentina came to this thing stocked, and got to warm up by slaughtering an undermanned, totally overmatched U.S. side.

Good for him. I am not quite a fan of palyers who want to play in all the tornanments there is. The days when we had liited international which allowed players able to combine both club and country are gone. Players ahve to be careful Their feet provide them with income. Players from the third world especially have FA's that cannot compensate these players for all the time they might miss from being ruled out due to injury(Michael Owen). I do understand the desire to wanna play for your country but trust me as soon as a new star emerges the injured player is forgotten with a snap of a finger

If it 's true it will only take four weeks it 's a good new, it will provide him to do bu..s.it, and allow a real recuperation. If not, it just shows how a future good season for Lyon could quickly begin bad. At the last news, TFC want 25M for Elmander, in my opinion he's good, but by far too expensive.
