don’t worry… most pre-season friendlies are organized at very short notice sometimes only a couple of days ahead. they’re almost always played in small venues in towns that don’t get much big-time football, never in lyon anyway.

I just feel that in friendlies, players are a lot more accessible than in competitive games. Especially in a place like Portland, where the number of Lyon fans going to that match (even the general fans) wouldn’t be a huge amount. Much easier for getting autographs and pictures and maybe even chatting them up for a minute.

I don’t know, for me it’s better that they don’t come to the US so now I’m forced to go to France. Even though the Euro is going to kill me. And I have a sneeking suspicion I’ll like Lyon more than Portland- beautiful city that it is. Also think I’ll have a slightly better meal in Lyon.
