The miss of Benzema and Gomes are not good news. One of the key for Lyon will be the fit of Fred.
For me the tactical key is if Lyon will or won’t suceed neutralizing Xavi ’s assists. If they could neutralize the ball transmission of Iniesta and Xavi, the Barça team will be cut in two with forwards useless without a good ball. In the first match, try to put a double defensive wall but it was useless, because the danger come from Xavi, once the Barça forwards have got the ball it’s too late, especially with our defence. We will see if Perrin think like me, if he planned it and if the team manage to disturb Xavi and Iniesta. Anyway, lyon should play offensively there no choice, our defence is awful.
If we manage to intercept the ball in the middle high in the pitch(in fact cut the Xavi’s assits)like we usually do well, we will damage them. If Xavi manage to quickly give correctly the ball, we will suffer.

I was happy to see Veh said that. He probably said it in the interest of fairplay, but I think Veh secretly adores Lyon like I not-so-secretly adore Stuttgart. They are getting their form back, and I think Lyon had their double header against them at the right time because right now, taking six points off of Stuttgart would be a mammoth task. Here’s hoping they make Rangers pay!

Chris thinks this will be another massacre since Barca are so mighty and we are sucking in the defense department. But I think it’s time Lyon ruined Valdes’s clean sheet record.

rangers drawing would be fine… then even if we lose we’re only 2 points behind them and a win at hydrox puts us through. and that win is the ticket in almost all the scenarios.

Yeah I dont think Stuttgart will lie down for Rangers. Thing is, Rangers will be looking for a draw, so lets hope Stuttgart can break them down.

For me, if Lyon go out this early of the CL, that’s the real season over. Unless they make an unreal impact in the uefa cup. And yet again, they will lose any decent players remaining to sides who do well in Europe.

Fred will take this opportunity to show the world he is a world class player, just as Benz did while he was out. Every player goes through tough times, goal scoring droughts, self-doubt. The only person holding back Fred is himself. We work as a team, it’s not a competition between who starts and who sits. I’m sure when he scores, Benz will be the first one to celebrate with him on the sideline. The long road back is a tough one, but here it is. Lyon, Champions.

jo will get half her wish since AP will play toto and bodmer at the back. jury-rigged as it is, it’s the only pairing that has ever put together a solid match, and they did so as recently as last weekend.

on point? sorry, govou hasn’t played there since the punic wars, and for good reason.

fred will start. and you know what else? my little finger tells me he’s going to be very good. because that boy’s problem these days is MOTIVATION, and a do-or-die against barça should do the trick.

if i’m wrong, KB will come in for the second half if necessary. if i’m right, it will send a real shockwave through L1 and any other of our future opponents.
