Lyon vs Nice : Restoring credibility

Short post today. Against a team of Nice who managed to take 20 points out of 24 possible in the last eight days (8 games without a single loss, ie 6 wins and 2 draws, best series running in L1), Lyon want to end a bad run. Aulas’s boys have not won the last game before the winter break in Gerland since December 21, 2000 . So today, beyond restoring confidence after the Nancy and PSG games, it will be the occasion to mark the club’s history. The players said it, it will give them extra motivation.

And, for some players and staff, a clear win would be a nice way to “welcome” Claude Puel.

Garde’s cocktail to get us a win:
Vercoutre – Réveillère, Bisevac, Lovren, Dabo – Gonalons, Malbranque, Fofana – Bastos, Lisandro, Gomis

Puel’s recipe to continue their good run:
Ospina – Civelli, Kolodzieczak, Pejcinovic, Genevois – Digard, Traoré, Eysseric – Bauthéac, Cvitanich, Pied

Allez les Gones!

thanks for keeping up the chatter, megame!

saw first half, then had to dash out. brutal counter attack leading to lisandro's goal - seemed well deserved, as OL was in cruise-control in the 1st half. guess they didn't let up in 2nd half.

Tonight, Lyon have 3 points more than last year at the winter break. All this after juggling with injuries, suspensions and the need to give some rest to the most used players, resulting in 26 different starting lineups in 27 official games...

Tonight's slap in the face is another proof that Lyon is the boss at home. The team are by far the best of L1 at home.

It started well but ended.. well, less well for Puel's team. He lost Pied (injury), Ospina (red card), lost 3-0, saw their unbeaten run stop; he also saw another series stop, as before this match, Nice had scored at least one goal in their last 16 L1 outings, matching a series dating back to 1975. That year, the series had already been stopped at Gerland (0-1).
So the Lyonnais supporters enjoyed mocking him with banners and chants saying "Puel, resignation"... the same they had been using since 21 May 2011 when Puel was at the club.
