Jo, I thought that the 20% on the resale was only on the extra money. Like if Marseille sell Hatem for 16 millions (5 more than the 11 millions they spent), then Lyon would get 20% of the 5 millions profit. Not sure though, I may have misunderstood.

It’s done. OM and OL found a deal tonight, at LFP’s house.
12 millions transfer fee + 1 millions if OM go through the third round of Champion’s league this year + 20% of the gains for a resale of the player.
Ben Arfa agreed to let his 1.5M euros down.

I think that’s finally a pretty good deal for OL. Except, of course, if Hatem is the best player next season, and go to Real Madrid for 40 Millions.
And even if that would be the case, OL would touch 8 millions on the 40, so that would be a 20/21 millions price for the transfer. Not bad at all

apparently HBA has clause in his contract giving him a 1.5M€ cut of any transfer price. take that away from 11M€ and OL doesn’t get much for a player of this status.

there are ALWAYS little snags like this clauses about fees to agents, former clubs w/ rights, etc. etc. they all get ironed out in the end.

above all, JMA wants to teach OM a lesson about announcing things as official before they are, and also about signing something with ben arfa before the deal between the clubs was cut. this is something could eventually cost OM points on “tapis vert”.

there’s a payback side to it, because OM caused OL undue grief over clerc in a roughly similar situation.

I think JMA just wants to make it hard for Pape Diouf… We know the guys hate each other, and the the HBA deal was really going toooo smoothly. JMA planned it all from the beginning…
Or maybe an other club got interested @ the last minute…

according to puel lyon and marseille have reached no agreement. he says ben arfa wants to leave but as of now nothing is going to happen…

The club can no longer accommodate most of the players they train. Migliore really wanted to stay at Lyon, but I guess the club didn’t think he was good enough to be Grosso’s backup.
