Wednesday, OL head into the fourth friendly of the preseason, as they tune-up for the last two matches of the preseason in the Emirates Cup, which will commence on Saturday vs. Celtic. This will be the second meeting between Lyon and Nottingham, the last being fifteen years ago in ‘95 in England, in the round of eight of the UEFA cup. Lyon lost that match 1-0.
This match will also present Puel with a chance to incorporate some of his returning internationals, who have been working their way back to match fitness in the last two weeks. All but one of the internationals- you know who’s still missing- have made their way back from much deserved vacations and many will see game time.
OUT: Lisandro and Delgado are still out injured.

Ederson is just placed there out of necessity. Hopefully when Delgado and Bastos are back, we won’t see him on the wing anymore, except in emergencies.

Went to the game earlier and was good to see Lyon in the flesh for the first time. Was a good team performance but they did concede quite a few chances to an average Forest team. Strong performances from Bafe, Pjanic, Ederson, Gassama and Briand today. Looks like Toulalan is being fully converted to CB. Shame no sight of Bastos or Cris. Pied seemed pretty poor to me and doesn’t look up to the first team.
Does anyone know where Lacazette, Tafer and Grenier were? Was hoping to see them get a runout

Boumsong is sold to Panathinaikos for betwenn 500 000-750 000 €
And Fenerbarche offered 13 millions € + bonuses for Gomis which is pretty much what OL paid for him -
I would love to see our young strikers getting playing time and becoming important first team players, but i dont know why, just reading about the option of selling Gomis doesn’t feel right…
we need at least one tall physical striker if we hope to see 4-4-2 at some matches -

I completely fprgpt about Mensah. He could actually save us from a lot of trouble in defense.
Cris, Lovren, Mensah, Toulalan, Faure. We could be set with that. Toulalan could keep his DM position and only play CB when really necessary. Then it just leaves us with one midfielder to find. -

This is absolutely one of the ugliest jersey I have ever seen. And I thought the away shirt is bad…But this is completely awful.

This jersey is so ugly that I’m on the verge of stopping supporting Lyon. What were they thinking??? Adidas is renowned for making good-looking classical jerseys, not something like this! This is one of the uglies jerseys in the history of football, I can’t believe what I’m seeing. Poor Lisandro, he looks really pissed of on this picture…

This jersey looks to be a remain of the 70’s. As if Adidas had an old stock to get rid of.
Do they just accept whatever Adidas offers? I can’t believe Aulas accepted this. -
My friend Javier at the Lens blog says that the away burgundy kit looks like the “wall paper at a whore house in Pigalle.” He has no words for this European kit, and neither do I.

Mensah has no choice but to come back. Nobody wants him and he knows he will be sitting on his couch all season if he doesn’t come back. I hope Puel makes him pay.
