PSG vs. Lyon Liveblog Info

By: Inara | September 20th, 2009

Good morning, my wonderful readers! Sadly, I won’t be around for most of today, so until 8 PM tonight, I’ll be clueless as to how this game turns out (though naturally I expect – no, demand – that OL crank out a win). Remember, with Bordeaux and Marseille winning their respective games yesterday, anything less than three points will be a tough blow to Lyon’s race for the title, even this early in the season.

I was going to put up a match preview, but Thomas over at the PSG Offside did such a great job in his preview that anything I could say would be redundant. I suggest you head over there to check it out. In addition, Thomas will also be liveblogging this game, starting at 3 PM. He’ll be using it CoverItLive, which is a great way for both bloggers and readers to interact. I’ve gone ahead and posted a link to Thomas’s Liveblog on this page, so definitely participate. In the event that my link doesn’t work, visit the PSG Offside and join the livechat in there.

Happy for Tafer ! :D Maybe that will be his break-trough goal:D I just gotta say i love Gomis, he has the worst first touch ever after Keita, and still he own! He is ten times the player Keita is, and can’t stop scoring… I think Gomis is a player that really thrives when he plays together with good players

Tafer’s goal had a lot of Benzema about it! Warms my heart to see! Great play from Pjanic and Cissokho in the buildup

Was the Tafer goal nice? I’m thinking about including it in the goal of the week poll by the fact that it’s his first in Ligue 1, but if it was a nice goal, it’s definitely in…

Great day for Lyon(Valenciennes – Marseille 3:2 :D ) I am so happy that Tafer and Grenier got their chance to play and Bafe looks like a great signing by Aulas.

P.S. Does anyone know will Bastos be fit for the CL match?

    Bravo Lyon!
1 half – Lyon was so bad as in match with PSG.
2 half – it was the team, that I support!

And after the match I had a feeling that in first period Lyon wanted to win a match with 10% energy consumption).
But after 45min they understood, that it’s not enough.

    Players:
Lloris: some mistakes catching the ball from corners and freekicks.
Cris: As always, mistakes, but in second half he was solid.
Bodmer: He is not a defender!
    Midfielders: Not bad.
Govou: Worked hard and that’s great.
    Gomis: Progressing…
    Tafer: Finally he is on the pitch! Great match for him. {After 5 years forward. duet in R.Mardid will be: Benzema-Tafer)) (I’m joking)}
    Grenier: Ok)

Next: CL clash against Debrecen. We need a win!)

Bodmer :( He’s a talented player but Puel’s killing his career. On the bright-side if Toul plays back there then the team looks great with only 1 DM.

Big thumbs up to Tafer. He had the real poachers instinct to get in front of the defender for the goal. Looked comfortable on the ball and made some crisp passes.
Gomis is quickly becoming my favourite not just because of the goal scoring. He made a great tackle late in the game in our penalty box which says a lot about his work rate.
Cissokho and Pjanic, great as usual. My only gripe with Pjanic was a selfish shot in the 92nd minute instead of giving Tafer an easy finish but I’ll forgive him since we were ahead.

It was too many draws at home last year that lost us the title, perfect record so far :)

I think it was a bad game by Cissokho, except for late on, he lost too many balls and looked a bit tired

do you know why that is Aleksander ? becuase he’s ” Mr. Champions League ” watch him against Debrecen, he’ll probably be our best player again :) lol

….plus it was good to see Tafer in, was afraid he was going to be overlooked. Now all thats left is for Kolo to see some action. Maybe Puel puts out the youngsters against Debrecen in the second game ( depending on how the first one goes and how far along we are with the points )

Tafer’s not being overlooked and will never be. The main reason why he’s been missing lately is because he’s been unavailable due to Puel allowing him and Grenier to play with the under-19s. He, Faure, and Grenier spent like two weeks in early September in Japan playing in the Sendai Cup. Most likely in early October, they won’t with Lyon because they have matches with the under-19s.

true Jao, but in terms of last season, Tafer was a way better option than “Whats-his-name” when Benzema went down, but Puel still didnt play him. I was afraid that having two good strikers in Lisandro and Gomis, that Puel would shy away from using Tafer. the fact that Gignac is still a heated topic amongst the Lyon Hierarchy only furthered my worries.

Ur right about Cissokho being “Mr Champions League”, but we should still expect him to perform in the league. Sad it is, that we had to sell Grosso, Kolo prolly won’t get playing time anytime soon, which means Cissokho will be played in every damn match, He’s going to get killed by fatigue.

On other terms… Me and my father are planning to go to france to watch the Lyon – Marseille game! Problem is however, I fear the tickets may get outsold very fast. I got some questions surrounding that topic… I live in norway, and i know no way of pre-ordering tickets, do you guys know any sites or anything that may let me do that? How fast will the stadium be outsold? I won’t be able to buy the tickets when get to Lyon do I?

Tickets can normally be ordered online through the official OLweb website (http://www.olweb.fr/fr/Billetterie/800001/Choix-des-places) but for the OL-OM game it is not yet open for the public. For the moment, only members of the OL club (ie customers of the club’s banking card) can buy tickets for this match .
They should open the bookings for the rest of the public in a few days, so check out when the blue box “membre OL club” is replaced by a yellow “Tout public”, which means anyone can purchase tickets. You just need to register and follow the instructions. If you need further assistance (esp.due to language), let me know.

l’equipe are suggesting Clerc starts at RM, not sure why when we have Ederson and Delgado available again. Rest of the lineup should pick itself.

i guess there putting clerc to ad more stability on the right side when defensing. They usually do that when theres is a big threat on the left side. They did it for Robinho about 3 years back, did it to Ronald 2 years back.

Puel might have even done it a year ago, but reviellere was injured and he made the genius move of starting an unmatch fit clerc on the right side
