i really wish we had seen the 4-4-2 with the modifications inara made. it turned out we did see both baros and benzema, but with belhadj instead of fabio santos they both would have had seen more and better balls. leaving fabio santos on the bench, yes, and not just to have a sub! he really doesn't seem that good to me. and paradoxically, a 4-4-2 with belhadj and govou covers very well. i'm not sure sid was MOTM but he does do so much... it gets right up my nostrils to always read how he played badly just because he missed a couple of shots. if i was forced to put together a side with 11 clones of one individual it would be govou hands down.

Seeing Benzema tonight made me realize I am happy with Lyon's attacking options. Unless we get someone like Nico, I don't want a so-so striker at the club. Aulas said it correctly that it would be criminal to keep Benzema on the bench.

Also, Toulalan is just awesome. I don't miss Diarra (both of them in fact) anymore. He is so tireless, must do the most running on the team, covering several kilometers per match at least. That reminds me, I need to do a profile for him.

Vercoutre is quite vulnerable in the air, he just flaps around like a frightened bird. But he saved that excellent Birsa fk that could easily have been the goal of the week.

Bodmer also needs to be played in position. I know he can do everything, but he needs to do what he can do best. Once Anderson is fit, I'd like to see Bodmer in the place of Kallstrom or Juninho to see how he performs.

Next up is Le Mans. But they are a plucky team and can be quite difficult to play against (that 8-1 victory nonwithstanding).

Lyon won 2-1 against Sochaux.

I'm happy of what I've seen. That was absolutely not the perfect match, but it's still in progress.
Govou was probably man of the match, because of his abilities to be everywhere we need he is (on the left, on the right, as a DM... !)
Benz scored again. He IS the striker we need. Bodmer made a mistake and gave a penalty, but it's not his real spot and he scored the second goal, so there's no problem about him.
I'm sad for Fabio Santos, who played not very well. He did some things pretty cool, but he has a lack of playing time... I'm not sure he will be in the starting eleven in the few months. Great match of Squillaci and Reveillere, and Grosso still forgot he is a defender. Toulalan was very often in LB to help... Thank God Toulalan can do ubiquity ! He don't stop to run. Everywhere.
Baros was pretty good, but was not very influencable on the ball, and Kallstrom had very great moments, but sometimes was not agressive enough on the ball, and so have to run, and run, without touching any ball.
At least, Vercoutre did very spectacular arrests, but he is still VERY scarrying in the air. HE CANNOT SEE where the ball will fall... that's so strange to see him motion everywhere on corner's ball !

3 points. That's all count. Everything's all right.

Drats, I was hoping Tampere would create an upset for Rosenberg. Oh well. I'll take Rosenberg in Tampere's place.

Inara, didn't Tampere lose 5-0 aggregate to Rosenborg?

I mean, playing against a team that isn't in the competition would be a nice draw, but... it sound unlikely.

At the moment it looks like Marseille's going to be in Pot 3, because Ajax is losing by two in their match.
