Sylvain Wiltord Arrested!!!
By: Inara | July 2nd, 2007I had planned to write about the awkward situation Lyon is in regarding their left back search (both Inter’s Fabio Grosso and PSG’s Sylvain Armand want to join Lyon but only one can come to OL). And how Villareal is interested in Milan Baros to replace Diego Forlan while Jeremy Berthod is tempted to go to Monaco. And how Atletico Madrid might do us all a favor and take Sidney Govou away from Lyon (!!!!). I was even going to dedicate this post to Lyon’s first day of training.
First day of practice. Coupet is super blond.
But instead I’m going to write about how four police cars showed up at the Gerland today to arrest Sylvain Wiltord.
Oh Nino. What have you done now, darling? You already had a wild party the night before Lyon’s title winning game (which they didn’t win). And then last week you were pulled over by the police for speeding. Isn’t that enough?
Apparently not.

At police headquarters.
Wiltord was summoned to court a few days ago about his previous speeding offense but failed to show up. The French police, seriously aggravated by his diva attitude, decided to take take matters into their own hands and just arrest the guy.
He was released shortly afterwards after he promised to show up for his trial in a few months. Let’s hope he doesn’t skip that one either.
Jean-Michel Aulas was seriously aggravated by the embarrassment, and the frosty relations between player and club have now reached sub-zero temperatures. I have doubts that Wiltord will even be welcome at practice.
So much for a peaceful summer.

Baros to Villareal rumors are pretty reliable, we are definately in the market for a striker right now with Fred injured, while the LB situation wont be solved by either Armand or Grosso, I dont rate either to do the job Abidal did. We need a strong defender who attacks on occasion, which is why Belhadj and Berthod are tough to see doing well there since Ben Arfa in all likely hood will be in front of them and never helping to defend, although the lad does try and get stuck in, he gives the effort just doesnt have it in him. Against PSG last year he made strong tackle to win the ball back, buts that about it.

Ohh and where did you get those pictures from, I assume the large black man in the front is Joan Hartock, our GK prospect for the future, while the crazy hair do next to Betiol is Kaaraboue or Remy I cant tell.

What about Diarra? We haven’t heard of him in a while, did he practice today?

Will Aulas eventually just lose it, and get rid of Wiltord?

What if we get rid of Wiltord and Govou, and take Giuly?

It seems the Rothen’s rumor is going down…Perrin himself said his arrival was not all in question… I feel that Bernard, who is not really found of this player, remind Perrin to take the transfer’s decision…or it is simply Rothen’s agent who has seen a good opportunity to boost his negotiations with the PSG…
Ol would maybe get a young forward for the time fred is not “operational”..dummy he is …Posted from

Moreover there are some Villareal/Baros loan rumours, so we may definitly need a new striker
Go Elmander/Tevez/Drogba! (who said noone of them will come to Lyon?)

Ohh and also, on the brazil blog there is a blurb about nilmar and his botched and shady transfer to corinthians. I find it ashame that we had to let him go because I liked him, he was a superb athlete minus the knee injuries, and he could bag goals, its just le guen played him on the right wing as a sub for govou which was not his position. if we had been able to get him back we wouldnt have much of a striker crisis and we wouldnt really need a world class striker because i think he and fred could have done the job along with Benz, but definately not Baros.

We are definitely in for another striker as now Baros is injured. More on that in the next post.

Malouda is attracting heavy interest from Real Mardid because Robben seems impossible for them. Also, Auluas has admitted to negotiations with Rennes about Wiltord. Now his behavior has been pathetic, but with Fred and Baros now injured, we may need him to play in the striker role next year, like he did when he first came in under Le Guen and did modertaly well, 8 goals or so.

There is something which disturb me a lot with the Nino case. On one hand we have celebrities (P. Hilton, Nino…) who weren’t respectful toward the highway code.On the other hand, million of frenchs and americans who do the same stuff( a week ago french policemen killed a child). On one hand we have all a mediatic stuff around these “scandals???”, on the other hand no one in France talk about the supression of 10 000 teachers, few media in USA, talks about politic. Personnaly, i wonder to know in the name of which principle i should be informed toward the private life of someone, even if he ’s famous. I see in these “papers ’scandals” the way to make us little daily judges. To judge someone give us a feeling of powerful, but it is a lure, to judge reinforce in each individual the submission feeling to a norm and the faculty for obey. I m afraid to leave in a world where my boss will say me one day: i will fire you because i learn you made love with twelve women yesterday.

very philosophical thierry. I dont like Nino’s attitude, i dont care if he sleeps with twelve women in a day, as long as he doesnt do it before a game. He is a professional and should act accordinly, he wanted to be a pimp (aka man whore) he should have bought a fur coat and feather cap and started trolling around Saint Germain.
