I dont know if Aulaus has much of a plan, he lost the coach that he was certain he wanted for another year, and he can not longer keep hold of the players big clubs are eyeing. He will have to buy a striker now, and he will also need to buy a left sided midfielder, if not two if he doesnt buy a striker and lets ben arfa play as a striker. the situation looks grim right now and we will need to hope things get better

I agree with U. But you forgot two things : His knowledge about football, and his love for winning.
He works (lives ?) for this. He certainly know where he want to go, and that’s certainly NOT in Ligue 2 or in 8th final of the CL…
I’m worried about what’s happenened in OL as you are, but WE HAVE TO believe in his strategy. (And don’t say to me he has no strategy ! We’re talking about Aulas !)

That’s too bad about Navas. Anyways, I doubt he would have left Sevilla for Lyon anyway. It’s nice to dream though.

Jo, you know how much I adore Aulas. But Aulas is, to put it bluntly, a liar. He says one thing but means another, and you can never take what he says at face value. That’s what makes him a great president, because no one ever knows what he’s up to, but it’s also hard to trust him. He promised us three or four big transfers – of which Keita and Bodmer are two of them, and I doubt there will any more like them.

Jesus Navas is very unlikely to leave Sevilla, which is unfortunate. The reason I say this is that he suffers from chronic homesickness (having left international training camps because they were too far from Seville) and anxiety attacks.

The way i see it, lyon will have to start from the beginning again, by buying up the best young talent and integrating it with the youth system and one or two good buys a year, because we simply have no platform to recruit big name players yet, and this teams cycle is over with, they failed to bring in the big one unfortunately/

Come, I’m really glad Clement is at PSG. He’s always been a quality player, and I would have liked that he stay at Lyon longer, but he was never going to be a starter at the club. So I’m happy that he’s still in France, with PLG. As for Nino, well, MadSear suggested a wage solution in an older post. He said:

“- The Yepes solution that also works with Luyidula. Give a player a floor salary of 150000 euros a month and give him thee times the normal bonus depending on his personal performance, the club’s ranking and the competitions they get at the end of the season.
- The Ronaldinho solution that worked for Heinze, Worns, Pochettino and many players before. Get Nike to pay for half the contract.”

Salieri: Trezeguet is also no longer an option. Milan might very well turn to Fred, as their first two choices of players – Eto’o and Ronaldinho – don’t look like they’re leaving Camp Nou this summer. And Fred hasn’t exactly been that thrilled with Lyon. He would jump at the chance to go play with his buddy Kaka, even as a sub. I don’t know what striker we can get, as I doubt Toulouse would sell Elmander to a rival club when they will be in the CL themselves. And Aulas don’t pay over the top for him either.

Let’s hope Milan take their interest elsewhere. *crosses fingers*

BTW guys, according to France Football, Lyon are interested in Jerome Rothen….

I’m really worried about the next striker. If Perrin wants to play 4-4-2, we need at least one more real striker. And with Makaay who just signed with Feyennord, there are not many decent strikers left available, apart from Elmander and Tevez (who will join Inter). Especially if Milan proposes something to Fred.

I’m really afraid next year’s team will be weaker than the one we had this year…
