Hugo Lloris is Mine Ours, Bitches!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HE PICKED ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WAIT, I MEAN HE PICKED LYON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I AM SO HAPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HE LOVES US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, now that I’ve gotten the fangirl excitement out of my system, I can continue as a rational adult. Hugo Lloris, who has been the guy I’ve been wanting at Lyon since like forever (well, at least since I started writing this blog), has officially chosen Lyon. The clubs are still negotiating, but it’s essentially a done deal. Cost is expected to be €10m. I’m assuming that Lyon will unveil both Lloris and Miralem Pjanic (remember him?) together sometime next week, so we’ll have to wait a couple more days before the press conference.

While we’re waiting, let’s have a party! Lyon are going to have such an awesome team next year, I can’t wait! Lloris is one the best goalkeeping prospects in the world, and the fact that he came to Lyon over Milan is a sure sign of our club’s growth. I promise to do a longer post on Lloris, complete with cute pictures and youtube clips with bad music when Lyon makes it official.

But for now, check out this interview that explains why he chose Lyon, what he’s looking forward to, how happy he is to continue playing with his BFF Ederson, and what he hopes to accomplish at Lyon.

Honestly, not really. In terms of a goalkeeper, Lloris is still a baby. Iker Casillas is still young in terms on a goalkeeper. Lloris knew, if this is true, staying in France was his best option. He probably got some very decent advice. No matter how long his contract is at Lyon and if he shows he’s “one of the best goalkeeping prospects in the world” then he can go to Milan when he’s, say 26 or 27, his prime years.

That is true, but he still could have gone to Milan if he really wanted to (he would have been their starter too since he’s far better than their current gks). I think had this been two years ago, Lloris would have gone to Milan or even Tottenham instead of OL. The fact that he believes he can still improve at Lyon is significant because back then, a bright and talented prospect like him wouldn’t consider Lyon that much of an improvement to turn down a club like Milan. And after all, 21 isn’t that young (as compared to say Pjanic, who is only 18). Lloris probably will leave Lyon, but by the time that happens, hopefully Lyon will have taken full advantage of it. Aulas wants to win the Champions League soon, not in five or six years.

Who knows, he might end up staying at Lyon if the club (and league) continues to grow bigger. Stranger things have happened. :)

Hugo, Ederson and Pjanic in. All are excellent acquisitions. Now we just need someone better than Boumsong in CB and a competitor for Grosso.

Lyon have three LB targets: Michal Kadlec (Sparta Prague), Jeremy Mathieu (Toulouse), Fernando Navarro (Mallorca), and Taye Taiwo (Marseille - possibly part of a Ben Arfa deal).

About CB, I have no idea who else Lyon are looking at.

Lloris is not only one of the best “goalie prospects”, he’s among the best goalies.
He’s been in Nice shadow, but I’ve been saying for two years that he’s the best GK in France, and one of the very best in Europe.

I hope Marseille don’t part with Taiwo or other first team players. I just hate it when they refuse to fight to keep a player. So Lyon better find a LB from some other team.

He hasn’t been given much of a chance at Lyon yet. Considering the amount of money Lyon spent on Delgado I think they would like to keep him around another 6 months at least. I think he will be evaluated closely in pre-season matches.

    So happy ! :D Lloris !!

Remy Was on Loan at Lens there he made an succes, with 5 goal on 10 matches. Hope lyon keep Remy and sell Fred and Delgado even if Delgado never gott the ”real” chance

Pjanic, Ben arfa, Benzema, Remy, Keita what a Strikers ! :)

tonio: Lyon will not sell Fred. Are you crazy? We need Fred. And Remy isn’t real striker, he is side ( flank ) foward, like Ben Arfa. You said that Keita and Pjanic are also strikers. No, the only real striker in your comment are Benz. How can you tell for player who play on flank that is striker?

i meant all the positions on the topp
im sorry, I think lyon should sell fred. Fred Cost us problems with ben arfa and benz who has to play on the left flank. CRAZY !
When Played as striker he made twice much goals then he made when he played left flank and Fred maked Ben arfa go, when he just wanna do his best seson and when Fred started to play, he was comming from a six moth rehab and put Ben arfa and made Benz go play left flank :S
Sell Fred even if i think he’s very good, he cost lyon unnessesery problems.

Aldo Lobos: I’m pretty sure Lyon will be keeping Delgado, who’s been looking REALLY good lately at training and during today’s friendly with Al Shabab.. He hasn’t played much this season, but that’s because he’s still in adjustment mode (coming from Mexico to France in the middle of the year is always tough), so the club is giving him time to adjust, learn the language, get to know his teammates, the league, etc, but not put him into a high pressure situation immediately.

He’ll definitely see a lot more time next year.

I think its more Perrin’s decision to not play Delgado more than the position of the club. Perrin never wants to take any risks, even subbing in unproven players even if they obviously have talent. If Perrin stays I doubt Delgado will play a lot unless Lyon get out of the gate early and establish a sizable lead on their competitors.

Thanks for the info on Delgado´s situation… that´s what i tought, that he was just in an adaptation process… he fought for so long to get into a big team in Europe and it would be a wise decision to give him a fair chance to show his skills, he´s a great player… i know there are great forwards in Lyon and that it´s hard for him to be a starter but he would be very helpfull once he´s completely adapted and with the UCL coming… i actually got excited thinking that he could come back to México and play for my favorite team but i can´t stop dreaming now…

    Thanks!
