I don’t think there is any other option that to move to a 4-5-1 or 4-2-2. There will be alot of disgruntled players, especially if Ben Arfa stays/Pjanic is signed/ Makoun is purchased, and/or if Remy comes back.
Lyon is in an akward postion as a club: it is attracting very talented players; will be loaded with talent next season, yet it is not at the level of a Real Madrid, where talented players don’t mind sitting on the bench. Lyons must advance higher in the CL in order to insure that talented players will still come even though their playing time may be limited.

You know, I heard that Lyon were interested in him. Not surprised to see him refuse though. Nowadays a man would have to be insane or supremely self-confident at taking over Lyon.

Because 4-4-2 wouldn’t work. No matter how they play, Fred and Benzema will never be able to cooperate with each other. It will be forever 4-3-3 or 4-5-1. Also, another reason for the 4-3-3 is because we have never been able to establish a potent strikeforce. Other than that year with Anderson and Marlet. It’s just been one great one and that’s it. Caveglia, Anderson, then we went dormant for awhile with the likes of Nilmar, Carew, Baros, Frau, Elber, and Luyindula (he did have one good season). Now we have Benzema (no disrespect to Fred). Also the 4-3-3 is beginning to become synonymous with football. Chelsea’s been using it since the Mourinho days and even Man U are adapting to it.
